HOUSTON'S HOUSE

'A technicolour descent into madness of a disgraced children’s TV host'

About 'Houston's House'

Downtrodden and discarded, disgraced TV star Houston wallows in a pool of self pity and an assortment of alcoholic and bodily fluids. From this dirt and misery rises Socks, a new manager promising Houston the world once again. Together, bolstered by their lust and greed, the two take the internet by storm.

Led by Socks, the various creatures and characters of the entertainment industry crawl from out the woodwork to aid and abet the two on their rise to stardom. Houston finds himself challenged and championed, beloved and berated but still something doesn’t feel quite right. Confronted by director Olivia Reid, Houston must ask himself: Whose love is he really seeking?

A kaleidoscopic view on celebrity, the internet and masculinity, Houston’s House uses big, bold colours, humour and puppetry to tackle the dark absurdity of our turbulent reality and social climate. For fans of Bojack Horseman and Bo Burnham, Houston’s house is like a cartoon come to life before your very eyes.
